Not exactly Iron Poet... but...

As some of you know - I have been selected as the Toastmaster for OVFF this year.

I'd like to have some new material (or new to me) to perform for the con - and I have a few ideas, but I thought it would be fun to open it up to the LJers at large and see what you all think.

So - if you have song topics, song ideas, other people's songs that you'd like to hear me do, anything at all... let me know. I need some fresh things to bounce around my brain and kick start me into a writing frenzy (I wish).

If I like your ideas, I'll write a song with it and give you credit. Not much, I know... but only offer what you can afford to give. :)

Other ideas:
1. A song about too much information. (TMI! TMI!)
2. A song about bad grammar on the internet.
3. Stupid people songs! (such as those streakers in Spokane whose car was stolen while they were streaking because they left the engine running)

You should write songs based on Robin McKinley books, and others based on the Robin of Sherwood series.

Surely you could do one little verse about the St. Cyr Apologies, just as a warming-up exercise? LOL

Hmmm...I've always preferred to stick with things I know, understand, or somehow intrigue me.

Your wife's LJ is a good start. All the things you've learned from being a parent. The way Zoe goes nuts over Daddy after Mommy's worked so hard on taking care of her all day.

Amanda's search for Ugg boots is another one.

If you want to steal any of my material, feel free to do so as long as you give me credit. The folks at OVFF have mostly not heard my stuff anyway (especially my newer songs), and my chances of making it out are miniscule ($$$).
