New Baby Ultrasound

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

Yes, we had our ultrasound today, and we are having a boy. There was much rejoicing. :)

I do feel kind of bad, though - since it means when Zoë is 12, she'll have an 8 year old little brother. Poor kid. :)

The baby and the mommy are normal and healthy. Still planning on a mid-February appearance.

I'm a little fuzzy on which end is up but... then what do I know. I'm happy that you are having another little being. Zoë will I'm sure be delighted to have little Throckmorton trailing after her everywhere she goes.

The picture is a profile. The baby is laying on his back, looking up. If you tilt your head to the right, he has the right orientation. He looks a bit like the old Alfred Hitchcock sillouette in this one. :)

Yay!

And as an aside, it seems we're keeping up the male/female filk offspring ratio, y'know? (lots of boys, not so many girls)

*hugs*

Well, I'm bringing one of each to the table. Can't be more fair than that. :)

Congratulations! I'm assuming you particularly wanted a boy? Or are you just pleased to know what gender it is, regardless? *grin* In any case, I'm glad baby and mommy are both doing well!

(And, personally, I think the idea of having a 12-year-old brother when you're 16 is much worse than an 8-year-old brother when you're twelve. Just think of the ways he can embarass Zoe around her dates...assuming you haven't scared them off, that is. *grin*)

No, not particularly. Just happy about the offspring in general. I would have been just as happy with a girl. :)

I thought they weren't supposed to suck until *after* they're born? *grinning*

Congratulations! I'm glad everyone's doing well...

Yeah, but with one of each gender you can go through all possible awkward conversations and stages, right? *grin* It's much more balanced this way...

Yay!

The way our ultrasound guy phrased it was, "God has blessed you with a boy."

Many congratulations, we're so excited for you. He's a cute little thing...

Bobby sez, "She's got a little BROTHER?" "Well, no, not yet, in February." "FEBRUARY? But that's WEEKS away....!"

LOL
So glad to hear everyone is well, we'll give you a call when we're back from our latest wedding trip this weekend....

A BOY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops, sorry.
I meant that to be:
Congratulations!! How wonderful for you and Zoe! She'll have a little brother to boss around...
And:
Hey, cool!
And:
Boys are fantastic, you'll enjoy it all and treasure all those sweet moments...
HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Erm. Well, actually you will.
;)
Lots of love from the besieged mom of two twin BOYS.
HAHAHAHAH!
Oh, is that getting old?
sorry......

Congratulations!!!!! One of each *rocks* :-) Now you get the chance to buy all the rest of the cool toys in the store! And all those little dungarees with trucks on! Whoo hoo!!!

Personally, I think the God-given job of small siblings is to keep their big brothers/sisters humble. Zoe will just *adore* him, I'm sure :-)

Congratulations again - I'm soooooo thrilled for you all!

Woohoo for the maintenance of baby parity! And Zoe can commiserate with Alex who will have an 8 year old sister when he's 12...

It's like having a transatlantic echo of our family, half a year behind! :-)

So probably know just what you're feeling - would have been happy whatever sex the baby was provided they were healthy. But that much happier to get one of each.

Scan forwards a few years to when Alex is 18 and Amy is 14. His friends will be so *cooool* and really *cuuuuuute* :-) She'll write their names over her exercise books at school and dream about marrying them. That's a *great* age gap for a girl :-)

And of course the phrase, "Take your brother/sister with you!" is one that fills either gender with dread :-)

Ah, the joys of two :-)

And at our house it's going to be 17 year old Zoe with fully blossomed friends whilst her 13 year old brother lurks about trying to get a peek.

Ho ho!

He's lovely! Well, Ok, actually he looks rather alien, but they all do at that age. ;-)

Yeah yeah, one of each, that's what I desperately wanted but I got two lovely boys instead. Must be my feminist duty to raise boys. C'est la vie.

OTOH chances are reasonably good they won't try to borrow my clothes and jewelry... although you never know, they do have this thing about wanting to dress up like Jessica Rabbit... hmm...

Seriously - congrats!

One of my children visits their Godfather for dressing up and hair-dying parties. Which one? Yeah, that'd be my son :-)

Wooooot!
Speaking for all younger siblings (and being a younger brother to Bardiclug, I say good for that little kid. Poor Zoe!?!? She doesnt know how good it will be yet haveing a younger brother. (Must teach the little tot how to torment older siblings :D )
Just ask Bardiclug!!
Ummm .... errrr ..... well, maybe thats not such a good idea! :P

Gratz and looking forward to meeting the newest member of the family next year.
