Leaving for Taiwan

The taxi comes in two hours to take me to the airport to catch my flight to Taipei. And I'm amazingly nervous about the whole thing.

I've been getting more and more nervous about travelling in the last few years. Don't know what it is, just a general unease that grows. I start convincing myself I'm having premonitions of doom or something, and that just makes it worse.

I'm going to get on the plane, sleep poorly, get to Taiwan at 6:00am and be groggy for 3 days while I try to adjust. And be hot. Really really hot. But I'm not nervous about that.

Actually, I'm looking forward to BEING there - I've never been to China, and this will be a very cool experience. The fact that I get to do it on someone else's dollare makes it even better. :) I'm looking forward to the show... geek boy heaven. I'm just not looking forward to the process of getting there.

I think I need a martini. :)

And I'm going to miss Amanda and Zoë a lot. Z changes so much every day, it's hard to think about not being here for 2 weeks. But Amanda has promised to post pictures and send emails and SKYPE and IM and all that. So hopefully, it won't be so bad.

So I'm just nervous and jittery and don't really have anything else to say. :)
When I post again - I'll be in China!!
