Getting Ready

Lots going on around here to get ready for the big migration up north.  We are getting a lot of encouraging emails from our Canadian friends such as sarahsmiles, allisona, ohiblather, complicittheory, musicmutt, and others.  It's nice to know we are going where we have friends, even if they are not in the immediate vicinity.

We were trying on some of Zoë's warmer weather things - not because we think we're going to need them right away, but we needed to know if we should pack them or not. :)  Here is a picture of Zoë in her Canadian outfit.  I think she'll blend, don't you?

Scary big?
Hey, when you're in Vancouver, I can come to visit you, still, without having to worry about the stupid new US-VISIT regulations affecting EU travellers from October. That's a big plus!

(And Canada has been loooong and high up on my list of countries I reallyreally want to visit for actual travelling through. So far I've managed the same hotel in Toronto 3 times for a weekend, which doesn't count. - Although... Canada's noot England of course ;)

I know how *big* a move to another country feels, but I think you will do and be fine. It's good to know that you have some contact opportunities even before getting there and other friends in the same country, even if not necessarily in the same town, but they're there at the other end of a phone or net connection to help explain things. And hey - in my experience Canadians are really friendly ;)

The best of luck in the big and the small things so things may go smoothly and seem to fall into place for you three, bringing you ease in life and happiness. *bhigghugs*

Hee! That picture is just adorable. :) Actually, if you're moving near Vancouver, you shouldn't get weather that's THAT cold, though it'll likely be colder than California. :) And yes, it does make it easier to visit back and forth if you're in the same country. Woohoo! :D Many wonderful wishes on the move. And please do keep us posted on developments here in LJ, huh? Lots o' hugs to you and Amanda and Zoë! -- Jodi
